Weed B Gone uses 2-4D to kill broadleaf plants (weeds are listed on the label, but flowers, vegetables, trees, and bushes are affected, too). It is persistent (doesn't break down; remains potent) for more than 8 weeks. "In one study when 2,4-D was applied to grass, there were 80 ppm at day zero, 45 ppm at 14 days, and 6 ppm at 56 days" (see reference). You could try planting in areas not sprayed (if any) or use pots.
References :
http://pmep.cce.cornell.edu/profiles/extoxnet/24d-captan/24d-ext.html

None.

The grass/weed killer is not gonna know the difference between your desired plants and not desired plants.
The purpose of a garden is to get exercise, so you would have to get out there and hoe the weeds out of the garden.

tmi/fyi/suggestion
Go with Mel Bartholmew's Square Foot Gardening. He teaches about RAISED BEDS and the bottom layer is the Weed Control fabric that prevents weeds.
Anything growing in the raised bed that YOU KNOW you did not plant well is a weed and well using your fingers just pull it out.

The main problem is envisaging the end result. Whilst this can be fuild, to a point, failing to see how things will turn up, means that the garden or landscape will never achieve it's true potential.
References :
Weed B Gone is absorbed by the leaves of the plants. It does not poison the soil. Wait a week and put in your plants.
References :
I challenge anyone to grow or propagate plants better than I do, but I have no ability to sit down at one time and landscape anything. So.....I just moved in about 4 months ago and it will take my 5 years to get it done which is fun, but I wish I had an eye for design. The weird part is: everyone asks me to decorate their homes...I am good at that...colors, furniture, etc....Mentally challenged I am when it comes to designing a space (except for container pots and I'm exceptionally good at that)????????????????
